2017 Valedictorian and Salutatorian!

Moravia Central School High School Principal Greg Jenne has announced the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2017.
Valedictorian is Kristen Patten, daughter of Michael and Laurie Patten.  Kristen will attend Rochester Institute of Technology following graduation and plans to pursue a degree in Bioinformatics with a Molecular Genetics Option.  She plans to become a Genetic Therapist upon graduation from RIT.
In her spare time, Kristen likes to read and spend time with her family.  They enjoy going on trips just as much as spending time at home with her dog and watching movies together.  Her advice to fellow graduates?  “I would tell my graduates to keep working hard as they head into college.  This could be the most fun or the most stressful time of our lives, but it depends entirely on how hard we work to head toward our future careers.”
While at Moravia, Kristen has enjoyed the opportunities she has gotten to participate in the many bands available here.  Kristen believes our marching band program has been one of the most exciting and challenging organizations she has ever been a part of.  She is very thankful for the time she has been able to spend with the band and the memories she has gotten from it.
Salutatorian is Zackery Chehovich, son of John and Jennifer Chehovich.  Zack will attend Cornell University in the fall where he will study Computer Science.  He plans to pursue a career in Software Engineering.
Zack enjoys writing stories, playing osu!mania, throwing discus, and sleeping.  He has enjoyed the small class sizes that Moravia has to offer.  He said that knowing everybody is a pretty nice feeling.  Zack’s advice to his fellow graduates is “just keep going at it, everything is an uphill battle.”
