Be the Spark Be the Spark: The 6-12 students and teachers spent last Monday and Tuesday reflecting on 2020 and the events that occurred. Through multiple campaigns they developed pledges and promises to themselves for 2021. Many of the themes encompassed “Be the Spark”, “Be the Light” and “The Show Must Go On”.  
MSHS Virtual Holiday Concert MSHS Virtual Holiday Concert: Our 6-12 music ensembles have been working hard the past few months to perform a virtual holiday concert. Unfortunately, the school had to switch the remote learning during the week we were filming our performances. We still wanted to spread some holiday cheer and share with you our vocal ensembles that did get recorded along with some soloists who recorded themselves from home. Mack Studios Helping Virtual Learners Mack Studios Helping Virtual Learners: Transitioning from in-person learning to virtually learning can be a tough process for some students, but thanks to the generosity and creativity of a local business, that transition should become a bit easier. Mack Studios in Auburn recently designed and built custom desks for students throughout the region to use while learning from home. The idea is to provide a workspace for students who might not have a designated space to work in their homes. “I saw that others were doing it on national news. "Coming to the USA" Day: Eighth grade students at Moravia Middle School recently learned about immigrant experiences as part of Coming to the USA Day.   As part of their social studies and Spanish curriculum, students were put into breakout rooms to learn about different ways that immigrants can come to the United States today.   “Coming to the USA day was a fun, interactive, and engaging day around the topic of Modern Immigration in the United States,” said social studies teacher Julie Hempson.   Hempson said the day was beneficial not only for the content, but also the change in schedule, which allowed students to interact with classmates they wouldn’t normally see throughout the day.   They heard primary source accounts from two US citizens who immigrated to ...

Moravia Middle Schoolers are History in the Making Moravia Middle Schoolers are History in the Making: Thanks to a project-based learning (PBL) opportunity, seventh grade students at Moravia Middle School are learning just how important history can be.   Social studies teacher Stephanie Porten, ELA teacher Ashley Ryan and their students have teamed up to create a digital time capsule that will record their experience living before and during the pandemic.   The students have been tasked with choosing a topic that was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic to research about. Topics range from how different bussing is, to what shopping or going out to eat is like during a pandemic.   “We’re living through such a historic moment! Virtual Art Galleries Virtual Art Galleries: Currently the district cannot hang students' artwork on the walls. The art department still wanted a way to showcase all of the hard work and talent so they created virtual galleries. Free Lunch and Breakfast Free Lunch and Breakfast: All students in the Moravia CSD are eligible for free breakfast and lunch. For students who are in-person, they can pick up a breakfast and lunch while in school. Remote students need to request meals for at home. For students (both hybrid and fully remote) requesting food for home, we ask that you fill out  this form . In-person (hybrid) students can pick up their to-go meals in school at the end of the day. Remote families can pick up their to-go bags (they will contain 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches) on Wednesdays from 10am to noon at your child’s school.

Middle School Yearbook Pictures for 10/27 Middle School Yearbook Pictures for 10/27: Tomorrow's middle school yearbook photos (for silver group) will be rescheduled for a different day.
"9 to 5" Still On!: The High School Drama Club's production of the musical "9 To 5" scheduled for this Friday, October 30th will still be on despite extracurricular activities being cancelled this week. The students recorded the performance and will be presenting it as a Drive-In movie. Come out to the Moravia Fairgrounds on Friday, October 30th at 7 pm to see the show.
