Moravia CSD Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Annual Festival

Moravia CSD recently hosted its annual Hispanic Heritage Month Festival, bringing students and families from across the district together in a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture.

The event took place on the front lawn of the middle school/high school, where participants enjoyed a wide range of interactive and educational activities.

The festival began with students receiving special event "passports," encouraging them to engage with the various cultural stations set up throughout the event. Each station represented a different Hispanic country and featured presentations by students, who highlighted key aspects of the country's history, customs, and traditions. These cultural presentations were part of an engaging "interactive wax museum," where visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Hispanic heritage from around the globe.

Other festival activities included a delectable selection of Hispanic cuisine, an art exposition curated by Ms. Dwyer's eighth-grade art students, face painting, and a photo booth station. Games and entertainment added to the festive atmosphere, making the event fun and inclusive for all ages.

The annual festival has become a beloved tradition in the district, offering a hands-on experience that highlights the contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities while educating students in an engaging and meaningful way.
