13 Students Inducted in National Honor Society
Moravia High School recently held its annual National Honor Society (NHS) induction ceremony, where 13 outstanding students were welcomed into the prestigious organization. The event celebrated the students' exceptional achievements in the four pillars of NHS: Character, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service.
The induction ceremony was attended by family, friends, faculty, and community members who gathered to recognize the hard work, dedication, and integrity of these students. The 13 inductees were selected based on their demonstration of excellence in academics, strong personal character, leadership skills, and service to others.
“You have demonstrated an ability to be well-rounded students and good citizens,” said High School Principal Jeff Green. “I feel like we’re surrounded by really good people here in Moravia, and that’s what makes it a great place to live. So, we’re extremely proud of each of you.”
The new inductees, who have earned this honor through their consistent hard work and dedication, include: Xinzu Chen (senior), Makayla Phillips (senior), Kylee Cooper, Maeve Green, Kendall Hess, Brooklyn Lott, Karson Mackey, Nola Mulvaney, Keira O’Connell, Brookle Proper, Madison Starner, Natalie Torok, and Caraline Wasileski.
During the event, current NHS members held a candle lighting ceremony and then guest speaker and alum Ken Palmer delivered a speech that discussed the importance of showcasing the four pillars of the society.
The ceremony concluded with students reciting the National Honor Society Pledge, signifying their official inclusion into the organization.
