Moravia Honored with Prestigious Awards at the 2025 NY FFA State Convention
The Moravia Central School District proudly announces its recognition with two distinguished honors at the 2025 New York FFA State Convention held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse. Superintendent John Birmingham received the esteemed 2025 Administrator Recognition Award, and the district earned the 100 Year Chapter Challenge Award for its exceptional contributions to agricultural education and leadership.
The Administrator Recognition Award is presented annually to an educational leader who has demonstrated unwavering support for agricultural education and FFA initiatives.
“Mr. Birmingham is a champion for the Moravia FFA Chapter and Agriculture program,” said the event’s speaker. “He promotes the program by sharing the story of their efforts, creating a vision for the future of what the program can become and being personally present at every event.”
The Moravia FFA chapter was celebrated with the 100 Year Chapter Challenge Award. This accolade honors chapters that have gone above and beyond to celebrate a century of growth and achievement within New York FFA. Moravia’s innovative programs, community outreach and commitment to developing leadership skills in students were instrumental in earning this award.
The 2025 New York FFA State Convention brought together more than 2,500 FFA members, advisors and guests from across the state under the theme “Excelsior.” This milestone event celebrated 100 years of New York FFA history and looked ahead to a promising future. Attendees engaged in workshops, competitions and networking opportunities with agricultural professionals, emphasizing the importance of education and innovation in shaping the next generation of leaders.
Moravia Central School District’s achievements at the convention underscore its commitment to excellence in education and community impact. The district extends heartfelt gratitude to the NY FFA for these recognitions and to its students, staff and community members who make such successes possible.
