Student Artwork Featured in NYWEA Calendar

A Moravia student was honored after her artwork was featured in the New York Water Environment Association’s calendar in 2021.

Freshman Molly Bieling recently received a note along with a framed poster of her artwork from the NYWEA Board of Directors and Public Outreach Committee for her accomplishment.

Bieling’s artwork, which includes colored pencil, markers and other mediums, was inspired by a quote from Jacques Yves Cousteau — “We forget that the water cycle and the life cycle are one” — and shows the effects of pollution on wildlife in a watershed.

“It’s really important that we bring awareness to what we’re doing to our natural waters,” Bieling said.

High School Principal Jeff Green was excited to share the news of Bieling’s achievement.

"I am so proud of Molly for this accomplishment,” Green said. “Not only is her artwork beautiful and creative, the message she communicated is so important. Excellent work, Molly!"
