District Receives Donation from Dollar General

The Moravia Central School District received $5,000 to support literary initiatives from the Dollar General Stores Tuesday.

The monetary award was accompanied by book donations to the elementary school.

According to the representatives from Dollar General, the Moravia store received more than $20,000 worth of donations from the community when they agreed to round up the total on their purchases. The Moravia store finished 8th out of more than 18,000 stores across the state for literacy programs.

“We’d like to send a special thanks to the community for their amazing generosity and to the local staff at the Moravia Dollar General for seeing this through,” Superintendent John P. Birmingham said.
