Five seniors from Moravia High School were recently celebrated for their efforts at the 99th annual New York State Future Farmers of America (FFA) Convention in Buffalo, NY.
The seniors all received the Empire Degree, which is the highest FFA degree in New York. Recipients include Cole Cuddeback, Gabi Heim, Megan Marsh, Daniel Murphy, and Ethan Hudson.
During the visit to Buffalo, students were also able to tour the Buffalo Raceway, New York Power Authority Plant and a turf and sod farm. Members were able to meet with Commissioner of Agriculture and Markets, Richard Ball, prior to his keynote address to the entire convention.
A Quiz Bowl team consisting of students Brooke Proper, Nola Mulvaney, Elizabeth Morgan and Megan Marsh made it to the “Sweet 16” of the event. Student Annabelle Badman was also one of 99 other students who were awarded a jacket of their very own to wear at future FFA events.
Also, past Moravia FFA member, Richard Church, went on stage during the Past State Officer Recognition when he served in 1959-60 as the New York FFA State President.
