Dear Moravia School District Residents:
My name is John Birmingham and I have accepted the Moravia School Board’s offer to serve as your next Superintendent of Schools. I look forward to working closely with all community stakeholders in the upcoming months; together we will continue to provide all students with the best educational experiences possible.  We have much to be proud of here in Moravia and I am confident that we can reach new heights for our students.
Several years ago, I chose the Moravia School community as the place where I wanted to raise my children, a place where small town virtues were strong and where the school was seen as the central “hub” of the community.  Much of who I am can be attributed to growing up in a similar small town, where I learned the value of a strong work ethic, integrity, and that a handshake meant something more than a simple gesture.  It is my sincere intent to bring these same virtues to my new position of Superintendent of Schools, and it is my belief that working closely together we can accomplish great things for our kids.
I will officially begin my role as superintendent on July 1st.  During the summer months, my goal is to reach out and meet as many community members as possible in order to hear about your concerns and dreams for our future. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to give me a call or send me an email: (315) 497-2670 or
May the summer months prove to be relaxing and rejuvenating. I am honored to have been selected by this community to be your new Superintendent of Schools and I look forward to working with each and every one of you in the pursuit of helping to make our students’ dreams come true.
Sincerely yours,
John P. Birmingham
