Moravia Central School District students recently qualified for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) District Competition.

Students Shy'Anne Rhodes, Ashley Magill, Ashley Grobelny, Will Hess, Samantha Evener, Lilo Fragala, Mackayla Phillips, and Madison Marsh placed in the top three of their competitive events. They went up against students from Cayuga, Cortland, Onondaga, Oswego and Tompkins Counties.

Hess placed first in the Impromptu Speaking event; Rhodes placed first in the Economics exam; Evener placed first in the Accounting exam; Grobelny placed first in the Client Services role-play; Fragala took second in the Mock Job Interview; Magill placed first in the Decision Making role-play; Phillips placed second and Marsh placed third in the Region 9 competition.

FBLA prepares students to become community-minded business leaders through relevant career preparation and leadership experience. Members of FBLA prepare for careers in business through academic competitions, leadership development, and educational programs. FBLA and its college counterpart, Phi Beta Lambda (PBL), have nearly 250,000 members in over 13,000 chartered chapters in the nation.
