Moravia High School Excited to Announce the Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the Class of 2024

Moravia High School is thrilled to announce the outstanding achievements of two exceptional students who have been named Valedictorian and Salutatorian for the graduating class of 2024. Allison Kehoe has been honored as the Valedictorian, while Luke Landis has earned the distinction of Salutatorian.

Allison Kehoe – Valedictorian

Kehoe said the announcement was a “sigh of relief” and noted that her hard work over the years has paid off.

Kehoe, who plans on going to Penn State to study Kinesiology, said the advice she would give to incoming freshmen would be to ask questions and not be afraid to seek out help.

I would say make academics your focus if you really want to succeed. And work hard toward your goals,” she said.

While academics have remained Kehoe’s main focus throughout high school, she also noted how important extracurricular activities have been to her throughout the years.

“I think extracurriculars are very important. You need to have that balance in your life, so you’re not just stressed out about the schoolwork,” she said. “Go to practices and have fun.”

Luke Landis – Salutatorian

Landis, who will be attending SUNY Polytechnical Institute to study Mechanical Engineering, said the advice he would give to incoming freshmen would be to choose classes that they can handle.

And try to fit a study hall into your schedule when you can so that you don’t have to do as much work outside of school. If you do the work, you’ll be fine,” he said.

Landis also noted that a key to success for every student is to simply do what they enjoy doing.

“If they like to play sports, I think it’s important to play sports. And if what really makes someone happy is scoring 100 percent on every test, then put a lot of focus on that,” he said. “Everyone should just try to be happy.”
