Students Enjoy Latin Dancing as a Part of Hispanic Heritage Month

Students at Moravia High School were happy to learn some new dance moves as a part of Hispanic Heritage Month (HHM).

Juniors Vivian Amos and Hailey Adams led the high school Spanish classes in learning two Latin dances from the Caribbean region of Latin America, La bachata (Dominican Republic) and La salsa (Cuba).

Amos and Adams have been dancing for many years and volunteered to lead the classes this year as a way of joining our celebration of HHM.

After studying the background of Latin dances and music in class, students learned important dance-related vocabulary along with the basic steps to each song.
