1. Why did the Board appoint an Interim Superintendent?
The Board appointed Mr. Thomas Turck as Interim Superintendent for the 2025-2026 school year to provide steady leadership and continuity for our students, staff, and community while we conduct a comprehensive search for our next permanent Superintendent.
2. Who is Mr. Thomas Turck?
Mr. Turck recently retired after serving as Superintendent of the Homer Central School District since 2018. He brings significant experience in public education and district leadership, and we are fortunate to have his guidance during this transition period.
3. When will the search for the permanent Superintendent begin?
The formal search process will begin later this fall. The Board’s goal is to identify the next permanent Superintendent, who would begin on July 1, 2026.
4. How will the community be kept informed?
As the process progresses, the Board will share updates through district communications, including the website, newsletters, and public meetings.
5. Will the community have an opportunity to be involved?
Yes. While details are still being finalized, the Board plans to gather feedback from staff, families, students, and the wider community to help inform the search and selection process.
