Position Overview
The Moravia Central School District is seeking a visionary, collaborative, and detail-oriented
School Business Official to lead our financial and business operations. Reporting directly to the
Superintendent of Schools, the Business Official serves as a key member of the district’s
leadership team.
In this role, you will oversee the Central Business Office, ensuring fiscal responsibility,
transparency, and strategic resource allocation to support the district’s educational mission. If
you are a team-oriented leader with a strong financial background and a passion for public

Key Responsibilities
● Fiscal Leadership: Manage the development, administration, and monitoring of the
district’s annual operating budget.
● Central Business Office Oversight: Direct and supervise all business office functions,
including payroll, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, risk management, and
financial reporting.
● Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Superintendent, Board of Education, and
department heads to align financial resources with district goals.
● Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations, GAAP
accounting standards, and independent audit requirements.
Qualifications & Essential Skills
Required Experience & Education:
● Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of successful administrative experience,
preferably in a school district or public-sector business office.
● Financial Background: Strong, demonstrable background in corporate/public finance,
accounting, or school business operations.
● Certification: Valid New York State certification as a School Business Leader (SBL) or
School Business Administrator (SBA), or eligibility for Civil Service appointment as a
School Business Manager/Official.
Essential Soft Skills & Technical Aptitude:
● Collaborative & Team-Oriented: A proven track record of working effectively within a
leadership team and fostering a positive, supportive environment in the Central Business
Office.● Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate complex financial data,
reports, and concepts to the Board of Education, staff, and the Moravia community.
● Multi-Platform Tech Savvy: High proficiency and comfort level working across multiple
software platforms (e.g., school financial software like Wincap, Excel, state reporting
portals, and human resource management systems).
● Analytical Thinking: Exceptional problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy

The Moravia Central School District is seeking a passionate and motivated Agriculture Teacher & FFA Advisor to serve as a long-term substitute during a maternity leave. This position includes teaching agriculture courses and supporting a well-established FFA program.
Responsibilities
● Teach middle and/or high school agriculture courses (content may include plant science, animal science, mechanics, 8th grade introductory ag topics)
● Deliver engaging, hands-on, and student-centered instruction aligned with CTE standards
● Supervise and support FFA activities, including meetings, events, and student leadership development
● Maintain a positive and safe classroom/lab environment
● Collaborate with colleagues in the CTE department and across disciplines
● Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff
Preferred Qualifications
● NYS certification in Agriculture Education (or eligibility)
● Strong classroom management and organizational skills
● Willingness to support and engage in FFA programming
● Ability to build relationships with students and community partners
● Flexibility and enthusiasm for stepping into an active program

There is an anticipated vacancy in the elementary school cafeteria for a Food Service Helper. This position is for 3 hours/day and the rate of pay is the CSEA contract minimum hiring rate of $16.00/hour.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: Assists in the preparation and service of food and in the cleaning of kitchen equipment; does related work as required. This is routine manual work performed under immediate supervision in connection with the preparation and service of food. On occasion Food Service Helpers may perform cooking duties involving lesser degrees of skill than regularly required of employees in the classification of Cook.

There is an anticipated vacancy for a school bus driver. The starting wage is the minimum hiring rate listed in the CSEA contract ($21.25/hr).
A school bus driver must be at least 21 years of age, hold current valid CDL New York State Driver’s License, and pass the annual school bus driver physical exam administered pursuant to the regulations established by the Commissioner.
PM Run:
1) (4.25 hours/day) ROUTE # 1
6:00 a.m. - 8:15 a.m.
2:15 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.

The Moravia CSD is seeking a dependable individual to fill an anticipated vacancy for a cleaner. The successful candidate will work in various areas of the district.
The hours are 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. Monday – Friday and may also include Saturdays. For the summer months of July and August, there is a shift change in working hours. The Minimum starting daily rate is $17.09 per hour.
TYPICAL WORK ACTIVITIES: Sweeps, mops, strips and waxes floors, washes walls and windows, dusts and performs other cleaning duties; Cleans and mops lavatories and locker rooms and replaces soap and towels; Dusts desks, woodwork, furniture, and other equipment; Receives, moves, and stores incoming supplies; Arranges chairs and tables and other equipment for special use in public buildings; Removes snow and ice from driveways, parking lots, walks, stairs, and landings; Gathers and disposes of refuse; May operate small light machinery (scrubbers, floor machines and burnishers). May operate a light motor vehicle in transporting supplies, equipment, food, or mail. Does related tasks as required.
